Who are we and what do we do?

The Memory Lane Family Place Association is a non-profit organization, founded as the Sackville Family Day Care Association in 1980. The family day care program was a pilot project of the Department of Community Services. It was incorporated with the Registry of Joint Stocks in February of 1981 and became a registered charity, operating under a volunteer board of directors.

In 2009, the Sackville Family Day Care Association changed its name to the Memory Lane Family Place Association. Over its extensive history, it went from a one-person operation to a staff compliment of twelve. Several other projects/programs were added over the years, including a licensed preschool program.

A Community Needs Assessment Survey has been conducted around issues being faced by families and children today, with the goal to improve our services.

Childcare: Looking for child care or interested in becoming an in-home child care provider?

Parenting Support offered through group sessions or on an individual home visiting basis.

Prenatal/Postnatal Services, programs to support women before and after child birth.
Public Health Early Years drop-in available on-site monthly.

Fathering Programs aimed to support male caregivers in connecting, networking and interacting with children.

Drop-In Programs, non-registered times to visit the centre for informal programming and supports.

Food Security Programs presented in various formats, including cooking programs and food supports.
